Vintage 2005

Rains in early spring and summer created vigorous vine growth early on. The growing season was as close to perfect as we can remember.  Harvest started on schedule and was completed by October 25th. Throughout the state, yields were above expectatioins.

2007 National Women’s Wine Competition - Gold Medal

The 2005 Chardonnay has a bright yellow-straw hue, with a very ripe, leesy, creamy nose. A lush entry leads a rounded, full-bodied palate with a soft acidity and tropical flavors which flows into a rich, creamy finish.

The 2005 Merlot was aged for eight months in both American and French oak barrels.  It was fermented half in small bins and half in the French delestage method. This results in a merlot with deep colors and an aroma of red cherries which pave the way for flavors of smoke, plums, and blackberries.
